PCRD Nucleic Acid Detector* is a rapid lateral flow immunoassay designed to detect and make visible the successful amplification of target DNA sequences in less than 10 minutes.
PCRD is a rapid, safe, and cost-effective alternative to using agarose gel electrophoresis and can be used in conjunction with the following amplification methods**:
Qualitative visual detection of labelled amplicons using PCRD is easy to interpret. The test strips incorporate reagents which sequentially capture and allow the visualisation of double-stranded amplification products containing selected binding partners. The result is detectable by the naked eye due to an aggregation of carbon particles at the capture line.
Line 2: Detects FAM/Biotin – or FITC/Biotin-labelled amplicons
Line C: Furthest away from the sample well, is a flow-check control line
A single line visible at the C-line position indicates a negative result (no labelled amplicon present), while a visible line at Line 1 or Line 2, or both simultaneously, represents a positive result where amplicon has been detected.
While the test is not quantitative there is a correlation between line intensity and the amount of amplicon present.
