The Pocket Diagnostic® in-field plant pathogen diagnostic test kits were developed for the UK Government (Food & Environment Research Agency, FERA) for their plant health inspectors to use when testing for potato and tomato diseases. Following the success the UK plant health inspectors experienced when using the tests, the product range grew to enable growers, farmers, agronomists, research institutes and private laboratories to benefit from the technology.
All demanding high quality and reliability, our clients continue to use Pocket Diagnostic® kits as part of their routine disease monitoring programmes or as a direct reaction to potentially devastating disease outbreaks.
Forsite Diagnostics, now trading as Abingdon Health, in York, UK manufacture and sell Pocket Diagnostic®. The kits are developed and manufactured using state-of-the-art equipment in controlled environment production facilities. The tests are validated comprehensively and shows good correlation with laboratory diagnostic methods. Abingdon Health is certified to international quality standards of ISO 13485 & ISO 9001.
Pocket Diagnostic® tests are the simplest way to confirm the identity of plant disease symptoms presented in plants, trees and crops. The tests are designed first and foremost for professionals working in the field, or those who do not have access to diagnostic laboratories. These tests are time and money saving devices which help catch a disease outbreak quickly.
Everything about the tests has been designed with field use in mind. This single-minded focus makes it easy for crop managers or plant health inspectors to test symptomatic plants where and when they are seen. Subsequently making quicker, on-the-spot decisions for crop disease management.
