Pocket Diagnostic tests are the simplest way to identify the symptoms of disease in plants.  The tests are designed first and foremost for professionals working in the field, or those who do not have access to diagnostic laboratories.

Everything about the tests has been designed with field use in mind.  This single-minded focus makes it easy for crop managers or plant health inspectors to test symptomatic plants where and when they are seen.

All Pocket Diagnostic tests are supplied with everything needed to carry out a test.  The test kit contains three main parts:

• The test device – packed in foil for long shelf life.  The test strip carrying the antibodies and other reaction ingredients is securely held in a plastic housing, ensuring it is protected from damage and needs no support while the test is running.
• The extraction bottle and buffer – our unique sampling method relies on ball bearings breaking up the plant material in extraction buffer in a rigid, leak-proof bottle.  This method is easy to use in the field, and gives good sample extraction across a wide range of plant materials.
• The pipette – for adding 2-3 drops of sample to the test device.
   

Typically, collecting a sample, extracting the pathogen and running the test will take under 10 minutes in total.  Once the sample is applied to the test device, a result will be seen in 3-5 minutes in most cases. 

All tests are supplied with full instructions for use.  In keeping with the on-site nature of the tests, storage at ambient temperature is suitable.
